328 million for charity thanks to the Postcode Lottery

The charity gala was an exciting and important night for over 100 charities, as the Postcode Lottery proudly announced that they will distribute a record amount of 328 million to non-governmental organisations this year.

The four million participants who play the lotto make it possible

The four million participants who play the Dutch Postcode Lottery make the charitable donation of millions by the lottery possible. Half the cost of every ticket sold is donated. Thanks to the Lottery’s growing profits, almost 15 million more can be donated to the charities this year.

About the National Postcode Lottery – society always wins

The National Postcode Lottery was founded in 1989 to support charity. Currently, four million Dutch nationals play the lottery, and each month they can win hundreds of thousand in prizes. At the same time, the participants are supporting important causes with half of all ticket sales being divided amongst more than 100 charities.

Since the Postcode Lottery was founded, 4.7 billion has been dispended to humanitarian and nature causes. Since 2005, the Postcode Lottery has also been active in the UK and Sweden, where the People’s Postcode Lottery and the Svenska Postkod Lotteriet, also raise funds for charity. In Holland, the National Postcode Lottery works together with the BankGiro Lottery and the Vrienden Lottery, forming a group called the Charity Lotteries.

Novamedia/Postcode Lottery is the second largest private donor to charity in the world.
